We bought our first family car together. Both Josh and I had our vehicles from before we got married. Since our family is growing, and it was perfect timing to sell the jeep to Josh’s brother (mom), we decided to take the next step and buy a car with a third row. With much debate on which vehicle to buy, we finally decided to get a Mazda 5 because it was a screaming deal, it gets good gas mileage, and it is perfect for our Northern California living!
We bought our 2014 Mazda 5 with only 22,000 miles from Hertz Car Sales. It was a rental car, and they had a surplus of Mazda 5s so we got it $5,000 cheaper than Kelly Blue Book.
It is a fun mini mini van, as we call it. It drives like a car, but has 6 seats. You can put the 3rd row seats down for more trunk space, or you can put the middle buckets seats down, if you want more room in the front of the back.
It has sliding doors, which I love because then we don’t worry about hitting the vehicles next to us when the kids are crawling in and out.
We are both very pleased with our purchase.
