This time of year gets to be extra busy with the Holidays. I usually don't get a chance to blog much, and especially this year where I am homeschooling, but I have a quick minute before my meeting starts in a half an hour, and the kids are all happily playing. (Fingers crossed, they stay that way for a bit longer).
Anyway, October brought some fun amongst the busy for our family. Earlier in the month, we went to San Diego Zoo. Then, Grandma Molly came for a visit. Last, we had a Covid Halloween.
San Diego Zoo - All month children were free at the San Diego Zoo. This was something to take advantage of because that zoo is expensive, even for the kids. We ended up going on a Saturday, and regretted it. We should have gone during the week because it was packed. Because of Covid, we had to wait in line (slow moving line) for nearly 2 hours because they screened everyone with Covid related health questions. Once we finally got in the zoo, it was still pretty busy, but the zoo does have a lot of unique animals you don't see at other zoos. Our kids were troopers with the waiting and walking, and I think by the end of the day, we were glad we went. 
Before driving home the next day, we stopped to see the ocean. Trexton just wanted to play in the water. Zaylee ended up playing in the sand, and somehow (by accident- I'm sure) Payson got all wet. It was very beautiful, as always!
Grandma Molly Visits - Grandma Molly had some days off work, so she was so nice to come and visit us on her days off. She mostly just helped us out. I was able to donate blood, take Trex to his appointment, and get some errands done without having to bring all the kids. We also went to the pumpkin patch (Gilcrease Orchard) and the park while she was here.
Halloween - Halloween was a little different this year, but I think it was a good thing. We went to the Ward Trunk-or-Treat on Thursday. There was a good amount of people, but not too many. We did have to park the cars 6 feet apart, and we didn't have chilli this year. The kids loaded up on candy by visiting everyone's car at least twice. The kids dressed up as Harry Potter, Hermoine, a doctor, and Ron. I made the Gryffindor cloaks and ties for the kids, and got lots of compliments on little Ron. Trick or treating on Halloween was nice because most people just put a bowl of candy out and we didn't have to ring doorbells. They ended up with lots of big candy bars and goodie bags.
