Payman turns 7 + He is getting a Baby Brother

I like to blog about my kids birthdays because they are growing way too fast.  I can't believe I have a 7 year old.  He is reading, can take his own showers, and understands Gospel concepts when we talk about them.  (Not that Avenly doesn't, but he seems to really be getting it). I am just amazed by all this because my little boy is a kid now- he is not so little, but really he is still so little.  He still holds my hand, and cries when he gets hurt.  He still likes me to lay by him before bed just so he can cuddle with me for a minute.  He is my first grader that will be in 2nd grade soon, and I can't believe it!!!

Anyway, here are some birthday pictures of my big 7 year old:

Payson (and his two sisters) are getting a baby brother in July!

We found out we were going to have another baby the weekend right after Thanksgiving.  In fact, that whole week of Thanksgiving I put off taking a pregnancy test because this baby wasn't planned, and I wasn't ready to be pregnant again.  Pregnancy is not my favorite thing. :-0 I was sort of in denial, if you will.

Anyway, the test was positive, obviously, and the timing was crazy in my opinion; I was in charge of the Ward Christmas party and putting together a "Come Follow Me" Primary training, as well as, getting ready for Primary for the new year with all the changes.  Not to mention, I was getting ready for Christmas for my own family.  I also taught preschool in early December for our co-op. The sickness and extreme exhaustion (I have never been so tired during first trimester before) all hit during December when I had a lot going on,  but through this experience, I have learned that my timing doesn't matter- it's the Lord's timing that counts!  He knew I could do it, and I got through it.  Eventually, I even found myself getting excited for our new addition.

A little background on this little one, and how Heavenly Father's plan trumps our own.  Josh and I were content with three kids.  I knew in the back of my heart that we were suppose to have another one, and it would be a boy.  Josh did not exactly feel the same way.  We went to the Temple on this matter, and he still felt like we could be done with our three.  The feeling didn't leave me that there was one more, but I was content to have the three for now, and revisit the idea of having another one in the future.  We went to the Virgin Islands, where Zika is, and didn't think anything of it.  Little did we know, that would be my first week pregnant.  I got bit by mosquitoes, and Zika was a concern after we found out we were having another baby.  Luckily, the baby did not get the disease, so that is a blessing.  The Lord knew.  He protected that little one. Even though we weren't ready, and a bit surprised, there may be some day when I learn why this son of ours is coming when he is.  I really am excited, and so is the rest of the family.

If you look in the center, you can see his face. His nose is on the left with his mouth on the right.

I also wanted to share the book we gave the kids for Christmas as a way to tell them they were going to have another little sibling.
