Christmas 2015

The 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and December 19th, were c-r-a-z-y!  I had overbooked myself with too many projects and plans all while getting ready to go to Idaho and Utah, and trying to still incorporate some kind of Christmas pre-school for Payman.  It was fun, though!  My favorite month is December because of Christmas and the season, and despite being busy with everything, it was worth it.  I don’t want to hit on everything that kept me busy those three weeks, but  I do want to share some of the highlights of Christmas and the month of December.

First of all, my two biggest projects:
1. I wrote a Christmas song.  I got the idea Christmas 2014 to write a song to my babies about the Baby Jesus.  I finally started my song in September, and luckily finished in time to give it as a Christmas gift, and share it our Ward Christmas dinner and family parties. 
I made a video of the song, and created a Youtube video.  I recorded it with my computer microphone and a program I don’t really know how to use, yet, but it worked out ok enough to give as a gift with the sheet music.

2. I made the kids matching Christmas outfits.  I was kicking myself for thinking I would have time to do this, but I bought the material back in October, and I really wanted to get it done, so low and behold…. The Result:



The reason I only had 3 weeks to get ready for Christmas instead of 4 is because we headed to Idaho/Utah for the week of Christmas, and got there the 19th.
Before our travels we attended our ward Christmas dinner.  It was nice with family pictures, dinner, a program, and Santa. One of the ladies in my ward, who also happens to be Payman’s Sunbeam teacher, did a wonderful job on taking pictures.  They turned out so cute- even with my kids anti- photogenic skills!! ha ha




Our first event of Christmas happenings on our trip was the Sock Party.  It was held in Meridian, ID, and I didn’t get too many pictures.  I even got my phone out too late to hear Payson’s Jingle Bells.  I told him to sing really loud, so everyone could hear him.  He certainly sang loud.  He blew the roof off!!  Luckily, I was able to video him singing it later at my Grandpa Wilde’s house.

After the Sock Party, Josh, Jason, Aaron, Benji, Kayla, Kayla’s two brothers, and me all went to Star Wars.  It was a nice date, and I’m thankful that my mom was willing to babysit the kids so late at night, even though they didn’t sleep a wink for her.

We enjoyed some time with Grandpa Wilde after the sock party.  We visited him at his house, watched Cokeville Miracle, and met some of my aunts and uncles and cousins at Golden Coral for lunch.  I haven’t seen some of them in more than a year, and I hadn’t see my two cousins that came in close to 5 years- Give or take).  It was really nice to catch up with everyone at both the Bosen Sock Party and Wilde lunch.

We spent the most time with my parents and two youngest brothers in Pocatello.  We went swimming, shopping, Santa Clause, ate dinner at my aunt and uncles house, and did our Christmas gift exchange.  I gave my 21 year old brother a “How to Find a Wife at Church Kit!”  I hope he at least finds some of the items (deodorant, gum, chocolate, a tie, etc) in the kit useful.




We were going to head to my sister’s house for a night, but the storms were not cooperating with us, so we ended up not going to Alpine.  It was sad to miss seeing her and her family, but our California car would have had to travel extra slow. 

The last half of our trip over Christmas Eve and day was spent in Ogden and Layton, UT.  Payman got his teeth cleaned for the first time.  He looked so small on the teeth cleaning chair. 

We enjoyed a nice Christmas Eve dinner at Molly’s house.  Grandma and Grandpa Mayo came along with Kimi, John (her boyfriend), and her two fun kids (Asher and Stella).  The night was enjoyable, and it was fun this year because Payson understood the whole Santa concept.  He was excited for Santa to come, and we even left Cheerios for Rudolf to eat.  (Rudolf forgot to eat the Cheerios, though- oops).

Christmas morning was nice.  I enjoyed seeing the kids open their presents, as well as, watching my brother-in-law open his “Sexiest Man of the Year” calendar I made him. 

We spent the day and Christmas night at Steve and Deana’s house.  They have a cat, and Avenly loved it, and loved to YELL at it.  It was pretty fun to watch her.  Every time I pulled my video out, she would stop, but she would get mad when the cat would “hide.”


On our way out of Utah we met my parents for lunch.  (They were headed back to St. George from Alpine).  It was a nice little visit to end our trip.  Our drives were long, the car was packed full, and I was ready to be home when we got home, but it was worth it!  Seeing family is always nice, and I hope they all know- they are welcome to visit our neck of the woods anytime they wish!!

Thanksgiving 2015

I was originally going to do a “Holidays” blog, but we only had a small party for New Year’s Eve, and I think this post will be pretty big if I combine both Thanksgiving and Christmas, so two separate posts for two separate Holidays!!

We met Molly, Jarom, and Laura in Truckee, California by Lake Tahoe for Thanksgiving.  We left weather that was still in the 50s and 60s, and came to snowland.  Payman does NOT like pants.  It wasn’t until after he did a snow angle in his shorts that he finally agreed with us that the snow is cold, and he needs to wear pants to play in it.  Before his snow angel, we went for a walk and he had his coat, boots, and SHORTS on.

In Truckee we all pitched in and rented a condo cabin.  It was perfect for our mini get-away because it had a full kitchen to cook Thanksgiving dinner, enough beds for us all, and a nice warm fireplace.  I personally was hot most of the time in the condo because my sweet sister-in-law and brother-in-law are hot blooded, so the cold weather made them freeze- hence they liked to turn the furnace up and the fireplace on!!    The condo also had a fun loft that Payman just loved!


Anyway, I made pies at home and brought them, and Molly and Laura cooked our feast.  Laura decorated the table with cute turkey napkins.  Note that this was the first Thanksgiving that we actually had a home cooked meal and spent with extended family for 4 years, so we were pretty excited, and the cute napkins made it all the more exciting!

It was freezing cold outside the whole time we were there, but we did manage to stop by Lake Tahoe and check out the snowy beach.  This was after visiting Donner State Park Visitor’s Center.

The condo was located right at the base of a ski hill at Snowmass village.  We took the shuttle bus to the village for dinner.  It was still very cold, so we were grateful to get inside and eat.  We did manage to snap a few pictures outside

I really wanted to get some cute snowland pictures with my kids.  The problem is, they don’t do pictures well at all.  When you tell Payman to smile, he makes a funny face, and Avi Girl just wants me the whole time, so she doesn’t stay in one place for the picture.  We did manage a few semi good pictures.  I really like the one with Grandma Molly, even though the kids are not looking at the camera

It was nice to spend time with family.  We played games, ate food, and froze when we went out side, but the condo was nice, and it was so great to have that delicious turkey dinner!!!
