Salto Corumba

Molly didn't get to see any waterfalls on our Amazon trip, so we wanted to take her to some around our house. I saw Salto Corumba on the map back when I was looking for waterfalls after we arrived. This place seemed amazing, and I put it down on my list. It did not disappoint... Well, the food did, but the fazenda was a lot of fun with lots of heated swimming pools, water slides, a track to ride up to the big waterfall, a petting zoo, zip line, repelling, ropes course, and whatever else I am forgetting. The property has about 7 waterfalls. Some of them were big. We ziplined over one, and rode the track up to the other one. We didn't end up hiking to the other big waterfall because little Zaylee was sick, so we had to take turns watching over her. Molly is so nice to watch her and Trex while we ziplined. Here's a quick video summary of our time in Salto Corumba: I'm so glad Molly shared her photos with me because she captured the essence of Salto Corumba. The hotel had it's own unique style. It was rustic, yet, elegant.

Ziplining was the highlight for me. We went on three ziplines and it was amazing. We ziplined over the river one way, and then over the waterfall the other way. Then we ziplined right into the river at the end. We all agreed that the water was shockingly cold when we hit it... well skid across it. Payson and Avenly rock skipped over the water because they are so light. It was only $12 a person. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Little Zaylee was sick the whole day we were adventuring at Salto, so we took turns staying with her. During my turn everyone else took the track up to the big waterfall. Then they hiked back down because Trexton was too small to ride it down. I guess it is a little more wild coming down. Anyway, he loved the track so much, he wanted to go again. I took him up when they got back, so I could see the waterfall, and he hiked almost all the way back down again. When I was at the waterfall with him, he convinced me to wade the freezing water to the little island. It got up to my waste, but the view of the waterfall from the shade side was really pretty, so it was worth it. Plus, it cooled me off for hiking down. I wanted a cute picture of Trexton, but he wouldn't take it unless I did a bum picture. Classic Trex!

This place had a some good pools and waterslides. Zaylee wasn't really sick Friday when we got there, so she did have some fun in the pools. The big waterslides were fun. Avenly especially enjoyed them. The pool right by our room was very heated, so it was nice to get in after various cold water.

We left about 4 pm because Zaylee was just done being there, and we wanted to get home before dark. It's not that fun driving outside of the city on Brazillian roads in the dark with the many random speed bumps and interesting drivers. We will have to go back someday, and hope that Zaylee is better. There is still more to see and do at Salto Corumba.
