Here is our year summary in pictures!! If you want to read more about the event, click on the link for the original blog post about that event.
January: We went to Oklahoma to go to the Temple, but also to visit the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial.
February: We didn’t do a whole lot in February. We had to save our money for our big trip coming up in March!
March: We did a big Spring Break Trip to Washington DC, Ireland, and England and had layovers in New York and Paris.
We met my parents in England for four days. It was so great to have this vacation with them before getting pregnant!
While we were gone, our nephew, Derek was born.
April: Since we used all of our money on our big trip, we didn’t do much in April, either! However, we did go to the Winter Quarters Temple in Omaha.
We did find out that we were going to Colorado for Josh’s internship, and I applied for my Colorado license and started applying for jobs, as well.
May: This was a busy month for us. First we went to Branson, MO and Arkansas for a quick weekend trip. We bought a National Parks Pass at Wilson Creek Battlefield, and we have already gotten our money’s worth!
Second- we moved to Fort Collins, CO.
June: Before Josh started his new job, we took a trip to see our families. First we went to Lake Powell with Josh’s dad and the family, then spent some time in Ogden with Josh’s mom. Last we spent some time in Yellowstone with my family.
We also found out we were pregnant in June!! I told Josh by doing a fun Treasure hunt around the house. It’s a pretty good story. Check it out, if you haven’t heard about it, yet!!
Another event that took place the very end of June was a visit from Molly (Josh’s mom), Sadie (Josh’s sister), and Spencer (Josh’s brother). We went to Molly’s cousin's for a BBQ close to Denver.
July: Josh and I went to South Dakota where we visited Mt. Rushmore, Custard State Park, Badlands National Park, Wind Cave, Cold War Missile, the Wall Drug Store, Chimney Rock, and Scotts Bluff.
Later in the month we met up with Molly and the kids again and met in Steam Boat Springs for a one night get-a-way. I had morning sickness at this point, but being in the fresh air helped.
August:We went camping in Rocky Mountain National Park. We made our first camp fire together, and had real tin foil dinners.
My mom came to visit Josh and I in Fort Collins, then I went back to Idaho with her and Benji, (my brother) for about a week, where my sister and I, Tina, threw a bridal shower for Kayla (Benji’s new wife).
After my Idaho trip, I flew down to Albuquerque, NM to meet Josh there. We spent a couple of days in New Mexico and saw lots of different things.
September: Benji and Kayla got married in the Twin Falls Temple, so Josh and I took a fast four day trip over Labor Day to go to their wedding and see family.
Later in the month, Josh and I went to Rocky Mountain National Park. We went to really high altitude, and I got dehydrated. This resulted in a very expensive visit and ambulance ride to the ER.
No pictures from that adventure!!
October: We had our 20 week ultrasound two days after my 27th birthday. We found out we are having a BOY.
At then end of October, we had a last minute get-a-way to Breckinridge, CO. We got a free condo for a couple of nights, and took advantage of it. This time I was sure to drink lots and lots of water.
November: First of all, we went to the Avalanche Professional Hockey game with some good friends of ours.
Then, we journeyed on to Idaho and Utah for Thanksgiving. We spent a couple days in Idaho- where my mom threw me a baby shower, and a couple days in Utah- where we attended Josh’s Great- Grandma Beer (Ma’s) funeral.
December: The only thing we have done that was too exciting this month was go to Broadway’s Lion King in Denver. We also plan to go to Utah for Christmas with Josh’s family, and St. George after Christmas to hang with my family. I’m sure I will make a blog post about our Christmas and New Year’s adventure after the fact!
Have a Very Merry Christmas!!
