After such a long and cold Winter we are LOVING Spring! We have done lots of fun projects and activities this Spring. Some activities are while Josh was at work so it was just Pay and I, but others we got to do with Josh after work or on Saturdays. The pictures pretty much some up our fun Spring!!
Payson flew a kite for the first time!! He thought it was a lot of fun!
We have found some nature trails around the area within 10 minutes of our house, and have enjoyed exploring them with Josh on the weekends.
This year was the first year that Payson actually got to dye Easter eggs and have a Spring Easter basket. In the past we were travelling because Josh had Good Friday off of work. He does not have Good Friday off with his new job. Payson loved dying Easter eggs, and he thought his Spring Easter basket had a lot of fun things in it. We decided to do our Easter Basket on Saturday for two reasons: 1- Church is early and we already struggle to make it on time, so doing a basket before church would not help us to be on time, and 2- more importantly we want Easter Sunday to focus on the Savior, and not on all the other fun Easter traditions that the world has created- like Easter bunny!! So the Saturday before Easter is for festivities and Easter is for the Savior! Then you get two special days of Easter fun!!
I made Payson a Sacrament Meeting Quiet book for Easter and it has been a success. We haven’t had to leave Sacrament meeting for the past two Sundays!! If you want to see more of what I put in the book, you can check out my blog post about it in my Sing, Dance, Play, and Read Blog.
Josh said he looks forward to the weekends now more than ever because he is busy at work and doesn’t get to come home for lunch everyday like he did in Oak Lawn. We usually do something fun together as a family
Just to explain the next picture- Payson does not like being messy or wet, but for some reason when he eats soft serve ice cream- he is totally okay with it!!
We go for walks most days!!!
Of course we play with lots of chalk and bubbles!
Payson has also been helping me organize and decorate the house. He is most helpful by climbing on things that I have put together and removing things from where they belong!!
We went to a quilting expo with some ladies in my ward. Payson’s favorite part was the spinning display with the stuffed bird on it.
We have had some fun park time!
We also did a fun craft with blocks, paint, pictures, and modge podge. Pay had a lot of fun helping me with the crafts. After painting the blocks, we hand printed Pay’s hand on one side, and on the other side we modge podged pictures.
Josh and I love to feed the missionaries. Consistently since we have been married we have had a brother on a mission whether it was mine or his! Generally, we feed the missionaries monthly! I made yummy potato nacho supreme for the sisters this month!
Pay loves riding his bike!
The latest Spring activity was Josh’s birthday lunch. We brought sandwiches to him and had a picnic at the park. Pay fed the ducks for the first time after playing on the big toys with daddy! We got ice cream after the park, and then later that day I made Josh a special bread pudding for his birthday.
