First Adventure of the year!!

Josh and I took our first adventure of the year to Oklahoma City, OK. It was only a 4.5 hour drive, so we drove down Friday night after work, stayed the night in a hotel, and spent the day in Okla. City. We drove home that night, and got home at about 11 pm.

We went to the Oklahoma City Temple, which was the smallest Temple I have ever been to, but it was a neat experience as always!

After the Temple we planned to get dinner at a true Steakhouse, where the steak comes fresh from the cow. On the way to Stockard City, where our dinner was, we came to a weird toll station. You had to have exact change and only change- no dollar bills. The toll was $1.15. We did not have that much change on us, so we pulled through, and Josh got out to talk to the worker. Only problem.... there was no worker. So, he called the number, and the hours were only Monday through Friday.

When we got to dinner, we had a great time surrounded by the cowboys and cowgirls. We stuck out like sore thumbs, with our church clothes on and our city look.

After dinner we went to the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial. It was really neat. Here are some pictures of the short, but fun adventure:

So what happened at the toll station? Are you guys going to get arrested? Or were you only supposed to pay on those days and times? sounds like fun. The temple looks like the one in Spokane and Columbia River (in tri-cities).

Yeah, what happened at the toll station? Looks like fun, make sure you do lots of these mini trips before you add kiddos to your family (they make traveling a little more difficult :).

Why are you turned sideways in your picture and Josh is straight on? Are you trying to tell us all something? JK This was fun to hear about- Natasha

I want to know what happened at the toll station too! We tended to avoid those when we lived in Oklahoma City; I thought it was weird that it has to be exact change! The church in the temple parking lot is our old ward building! Next time you go there you should try Braums, it's a fast food place with a little market in it & fabulous ice cream!

Nothing ever happened at the toll booth. I guess they saw our Utah license plate and let us get away with it. We went back to OK Temple a couple weeks ago, and avoided the toll roads. As far as turning side ways, Natasha.... I have gained some definite weight since getting married, but not because of what you are thinking1 ;-)
